Oven Fried Chicken: CoachCrystalJ - Healthy Recipes

Who says eating healthy has to be boring.  Get your fried food fix with this healthier oven fried chicken recipe.  This chicken is lightly coated, crispy, and has just the right amount of spice.  I had it for dinner tonight, and I hope you enjoy it as mush as I did.

INGREDIENTS:

1 LBS OF CHICKEN LEGS (or any type of chicken you prefer)
1 CUP GLUTEN FREE PANKO BREAD CRUMBS (mine was made with rice flour)
1/2 CUP CORN STARCH
(season chicken to taste-my mix included the following)
SEA SALT
GARLIC POWDER
BLACK PEPPER
GROUND RED PEPPER 
SIRACHA POWDER

DIRECTIONS:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a backing sheet with foil and spray with non stick cooking spray. Place bread crumbs, corn starch, and seasoning in a large gallon size bag.  Shake to mix.  Place chicken legs in bad two at a time shaking to coat evenly, then place on prepared baking sheet.  Once all chicken is on pan spray top of chicken with coating on non stick cooking spray and bake for 60-75 minutes ( until chicken is browned and cooked all the way through).  Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.  I enjoyed mine on the side of a salad, but pairs nicely with a wide variety of sides!

Making small changes to the foods you love and would normaly eat is the secret to easy weight loss.  By cooking in the oven, you save calories and fat but still get all of the flavor.  I hope you enjoy my healthy fried checken recipe and this provides you with help losing weight.  This recipe is so yummy that kids will ove it too.
